Culture: 24 - 1AM to 2AM

Here is the fox.com recap of the hour.

Now, for my brief remarks...

Pretty slow pacing tonight but some nice drama at the CTU around Jack. The drama of the squabbling between Morris and Chloe isn't working all that much with me. Nadia in over her head drama is a little bit better.

Meanwhile back in Washington DC, the twist is that the Russians find out about the chip falling into Chinese hands almost as soon as the White House does. Thus, we have the obligatory mole in the WH or CTU plot line. It is quickly solved that Lisa Miller is the unknowing source of the leak.

Meanwhile, back in the Hummers, the Chinese find out the chip is damaged. Good grief when did that happen?! If those things are that delicate, why didn't CTU damage the chip intentionally? If so, they could have handed over the chip and get Audrey back and not worry. I guess it was just dumb luck! Finally, some dumb luck that breaks for the good guys though.

I dunno about the Russians making a military move against an American base in Central Asia. That seems extremely provocative an action to do so soon.

Probably the best lines of the show was the interchange between Jack and Doyle. Doyle realizes they are going to try to drug the already overly drugged Audrey to get her back to reality and so he goes to Jack's holding cell and explains the psychiatrist's plan to him ...
Jack: Why did you un-cuff me?
Doyle: I think you need to do something about it. Make it look good.

The second best lines has to be when Secretary (William Devine) Heller shows up and at the end tells Jack:
I don’t want you to go near my daughter ever again. You’re cursed, Jack. Everything you touch, one way or another, ends up dead.

Speaking of appearances of characters from previous shows: are we going to see Jack's father again? are we going to see President Logan last seen bleeding in an ambulance? are we going to see Walid last seen recovering in the hospital after being beaten due to the bungling of the FBI? are we going to see President Palmer come out of the stoke?

Four episodes to go. They need a really strong finish to rescue this season.
